3. Chris Gayle (West Indies) - 965 runs
The player known as “Universe Boss” – Chris Gayle is an explosive batsman who quite often hits bigshots. He ranks third overall in the number of runs scored in the tournament history with 965 runs.

The former captain and batsman for Sri Lanka, Mahela Jayawardene, is now second in the T20 World Cup run totals. Jayawardene, who has scored up to 1016 runs in the five T20 World Cup matches so far, is well-known for his formal technique and composure. Over the duration of 31 games, he has scored six fifty and one hundred. 


1. Virat Kohli (India) - 1141 runs

It is remarkable to note that Virat Kohli is the T20 World Cup most runs scorer. Because of his success in international events, this cricket player is fondly called ‘King Kohli’. Kohli has scored 1141 runs in 27 T20 World Cup matches from 2012 to 2022 at an average of 81. 5 and has 14 fifty-plus scores.
