After winning the toss, USA captain Monank Patel chose to
bowl first in an attempt to take advantage of the early seam movement and ideal
bowling conditions. A superb one-handed catch by Steven Taylor from Saurabh
Netravalkar put Mohammad Rizwan out of the game in the second over, giving
Pakistan's batting a rough start. Usman Khan and Fakhar Zaman got caught up in
the powerplay, confounding Pakistan, and the top order struggled more.

Pakistan's Comeback:
Captain Babar Azam and Shadab Khan combined for a vital 72
runs in 48 balls, which helped to stabilize the innings. Babar's consistent 44
off 43 balls and Shadab's lightning-fast 40 off 25 balls were essential to
their comeback. Pakistan's middle order, however, was unable to build on this
foundation as they lost wickets often, ultimately amassing a total of 159/7 in
their 20 overs. With the ball, USA's Nosthush Kenjige was quite helpful,
collecting 3/30 in his four overs. Jasdeep Singh and Netravalkar also
contributed, getting two and one wicket, respectively.
USA's Chase:
Their first two batsmen, Steven Taylor, and Monank Patel, applied themselves well and got to 35 runs off 31 balls. In the final wicket partnership, Gous and Patel batted well for 68 runs putting the Americans in a good standing following the Taylor dismissal. Patels half-century off 38 balls was the highlight of the show however, Pakistan made a swift comeback by taking two flying wickets.
The Final Over:
With 15 runs remaining in Haris Rauf's final over, Aaron
Jones and Nitish Kumar assumed control. The match went into a Super Over when
Jones scored a critical six and, in spite of some nervous moments, Kumar
managed to score a boundary off the final ball to tie the score.
The Super Over: A Nail-Biting Finish
In the Super Over, the USA batted first, bringing Harmeet Singh and Aaron Jones
to the crease. Mohammad Amir, who only hit one boundary off the bat, battled
with his line, giving up seven wides and letting the USA record an 18/1 total.
Saurabh Netravalkar bowled a good line and length against Pakistan. Shadab Khan made a boundary but after Iftikhar Ahmed dismissal on third ball, Pakistan managed to score only 13 runs. The home crowd and players rejoiced as this sealed a landmark win for the USA
Key Performances
Player of the Match Monank Patel was rightfully awarded for
his cool 50-run innings that were important in tying the score. Nosthush
Kenjige (3/30) and Saurabh Netravalkar (2/18) put in outstanding efforts with
the ball.

The USA having won this match is in a better position to receive more attention as they prepare for their match against India on June 12. Pakistan will be facing India, their main contenders on Tuesday June 9 in New York where they are likely to stage a come back.
